During my PhD, I researched mid-air interaction and hand gesture recognition techniques that can be integrated with wearable devices. My work tends to involve sensors and actuators of all kinds, but in particular: Electrical muscle sensing and stimulation, ultrasonics, optics and magnetism. More recently, VR has piqued my interests. In my spare time, I enjoy football, cycling and table tennis.
The broad application domain of the work presented in this thesis is pattern classification with a focus on gesture recognition and 3D hand pose estimation.
